Growing More Than Flowers

Touring the dahlias; Fall 2025

When I first started flower farming, the goal was simple: grow beautiful blooms to share with the local community. Over time, though, I realized something else was growing right alongside the flowers — people’s curiosity.

Customers picking up special orders would linger and ask questions about varieties, seasons, and techniques. Friends and family would visit and say, “It’s really amazing here. You really should offer some things to get people out here”…

We hosted a few gatherings as well as some informal tours in 2025. These events started to give us a feel for using the space and the directions in which we wanted to move.

A Natural Adjunct to Flower Farming

Flower farming is rooted in creativity, seasonality, and connection — and workshops allow me to share those pieces in a more personal way. Whether it’s floral design, vegetable gardening, yoga in the field, or hands-on arts/crafts, these gatherings will give me the chance to open the gates a little wider and invite others into the rhythm of the farm.

Workshops feel like an organic next step. They allow me to:

  • Share knowledge I’ve gained through experience or invite other experts to share theirs

  • Highlight the beauty of what’s growing in real time

  • Create meaningful, small-group experiences

  • Build deeper connections with our community

Instead of simply sending my flowers out into the world, I want to invite people in to see where they begin!

Creating a Comfortable Experience

As we’ve developed this new offering, we’ve made intentional improvements to ensure guests feel welcome and cared for. Recent renovations include updated restroom facilities — an important (and often overlooked!) detail when hosting on a farm.

We’re also working on backup plans for inclement weather. While we love gathering outdoors among the blooms, we know the weather doesn’t always cooperate. We have a few covered and indoor spaces that will allow us to pivot for smaller workshops to continue comfortably, rain or shine.

More Than an Event

Our hope is that these workshops are more than just a class or an afternoon activity. We want them to feel like an experience — one that’s seasonal, creative, and rooted in the land.

The farm has always been about growing for me. Now, we’re growing community too.

Looking Ahead

And if we’re dreaming a little bigger… future plans may revolve around our peak peony and dahlia seasons. I’m imagining fields in full bloom, live music drifting across the farm, food trucks parked under the trees, and local artisans set up with beautiful handmade goods.

But I may be getting ahead of myself! We’ll be dabbling in a few ideas in 2026 — testing, learning, refining — with hopeful eyes toward 2027.

Hope to see you at the farm one day soon! Please be sure and Subscribe to receive the latest info on workshops!
